Daryl Zuppicich & Karyn Thomas

Daryl and Karyn are Business Owners for Harrisons Solar in Wellington

A born-and-bred Wellingtonian, Daryl has over 20 years' experience in the energy industry and uses knowledge learnt from a background in solar, electricity, and LPG to help homeowners throughout the nation's capital make informed decisions about the benefits of solar energy for their homes.

Daryl offers the full package – from expert analysis and free, no-obligation, in-home energy audits, to expert installation and warranties he stands by – and can offer expert advice, quality brands, and top-class solar products. Consultations are designed to be concise and easy to understand. Karyn looks after the office management side of the business and behind the scenes for each solar install. Together, Daryl and Karyn make a great team helping you every step of the way.

Because Wellington has just as many sunshine hours as other of New Zealand's "sunny" spots, solar can be just as beneficial as most other areas around the country – but we do get some extreme weather conditions at times, and our expert advice and approved contractors make sure that our installations are certified and built to withstand whatever Mother Nature throws at us.

"Our business is built on trust and commitment," Daryl says. "We are not a hard-sell, pushy company with baffling sales techniques, but a local family-owned business looking to offer you great products and expert advice. We are 100% committed to making sure your home is energy efficient. We specify high quality products and it's our commitment to you that the product or system that you purchase from Harrisons Solar Wellington will give you the results that you are looking for."

Our customers love what we do

Already we can see the benefits

Excellent service from start to finish. Unforeseen supply chain issues (COVID) delayed the installation, but the team kept us fully informed at all times. Full install including the Tesla Power Wall was completed 2 days ago and already we can see the benefits in cost savings. Highly recommend the service by Harrisons.

FAQ

Frequently Asked
Questions

All your Solar questions answered

Will Solar work in NZ?
+

Absolutely! New Zealand has abundant sunshine and generates between 1,700 and 2,100 sunshine hours annually. Some areas, like Nelson and Gisborne, receive as much as 2,400. Solar Panels don’t require sunshine; they require daylight, so Solar Panels work year-round, even in the lower South Island.

How many Panels do I need?
+

The average energy consumption is essential in determining the number of Solar Panels you need. A retired couple will have a different power consumption than a young family, plus pools, spas, and electric cars can also impact energy requirements.

The amount of energy Solar Panels can generate depends on sun hours and is therefore affected by your location.

Your roof size is crucial because it determines the number of Panels that can fit on your roof, how much energy will be generated, and the cost.

Is Solar right for me?
