New Zealand Farms Warm to the Potential of Solar Energy for great Return on Investment
If there are two things New Zealand has in abundance, it’s farms, and sunshine. This makes modern solar technology an almost perfect fit for commercial farming operations, from dairy to horticulture.
Dairy farms in particular, are a natural, advantageous fit with solar. Because dairy operations are often power intensive, running milking sheds, chillers, and plenty of lighting among other needs, they have a lot to gain. Dairy farms usually have an abundance of available rooftop real estate for solar panel installation, currently doing nothing.

What Happens in a Poorly Ventilated Home?
New Zealand has a terrible track record when it comes to properly insulating and ventilating our homes.
According to the Auckland City Council’s report on Homes and Places, “People who live in unhealthy homes have an increased risk of contracting a range of serious and avoidable illnesses such as meningitis, rheumatic fever and pneumonia. Unhealthy homes also heighten the risk of physical injury and can lead to depression and other forms of mental illness.”

Blenheim resident, Stephen Gould, made the move to renewable energy in October 2018 when Harrisons installed 16 solar panels on his roof. His power bills for November and December 2018 were $17 and $1.60 consecutively.
