World Green Building Week kicks off 23 September 2019 to raise global awareness of the benefits of building warm, dry quality buildings with a sustainable future. It all started back in 1993 and has grown in size due to the urgency to stop climate change and look at long term global solutions.
There will be events happening in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch from 23-29 September and include movie screenings, building tours, debates with a strong emphasis on how to remove fossil fuels from buildings. There’s also more than $2000 up for grabs in the 4th Annual World Green Building Week Photographic Competition (NZ region).
These are great events to support, learn from, ask questions and put what you learn into action. After all, awareness and education are the way forward so New Zealand can meet its goal of being carbon zero by 2050.
